A nonquestioning mind would ignore them and complain about "all" I can't give to make her "happy", that she needs "more", swapping me for a "rich" guy at the first "opportunity". Only babes, blinded by dead pretty faces, empty voluptuousness, don't know that.

You should stay away from both the hardcore and soft liar; neither of them understands that you cannot exceed "righteousness" until you have found the beginning of the true One, that if you don't break Out to be in the Way, you're going to be forever running in the same vain vicious circle as everyone else seeking to fulfill their "dreams" without the fake support of a "religion". Depending on the talent Maria's got to fit in the system, if she can't "empower" her "self" to get the "things" she wants, she will still be following the other Marias in her circle who want to be with, have a guy who's got "wealth" and "fame". She'll lie in wait for the "right" wrong guy with the means to pay for the ticket to pilot her machine. I don't recommend you look for that sure bad spell to make an incredible and debtful creature your wife.

Everybody is born Heartless, a mechanized robot in control and unable to lead anyone anywhere. Nonetheless, there is a type of lady and gentleman who, while lost and still trying to fit in "society", hide secrets they can't let go of and can keep them from hopelessly and carelessly settling for less, even when they haven't begun knowing the Secret+. Faith is always there in the chosen ones; it just remains asleep until a deeper encounter with the dark and messy "reality" of the world opens up their eyes, making them feel there's no way Out except awakening it for Good. Just trying to forget that harshness would be as hard for them as trying to forget about the bright Side. Because since their secrets come from It, they'd interpret that choice as wasting a big Chance to return there, the only Place where real dreams can come true.

I'm not trying to spread a judgmental message, as if those who are not of the world could not commit big mistakes. David and Solomon themselves are examples of believers who, being greatly weathy and famous, left the Lot after some "thing" infinitely smaller than that which belongs to the Kingdom. Like I said, on the one hand, even the dormant thirst for what is virtuous and transcendent can keep you from giving in, but, on the other hand, temptation does not cease to exist not even when you have already consciously engaged in the Treatment. You could still do that which the Doctor has already warned you would only harm your soul and body, never really help you get better.
